"We are particularly fond of those early NIMBUS releases for several reasons. Firstly, we think that the choices of discs presented on every CD are excellent, representative for each singer and musically well put together. Then, we do enjoy their remasterings. Sure, they are not completely true to the original records, but we think that the recordings actually improve with the sound idea behind those remasterings. They have a soft sound, some mild reverb and added space - and even though this sounds dangerous, it is always done tastefully, never tacky and always spot on. We recommend these CDs wholeheartedly, especially for those not too familiar with voices of the Golden Age."
