What does classical music mean in education and school?
This trilingual book, a result of a three-year research conducted in the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen from 2019 to 2023 on Classical Music in Music Education, addresses the topic from an international perspective with contributions by scholars from Italy, Germany and Norway.
Its chapters are ideally organized in two parts: the first is more general and theoretical, and the second more practical, oriented to the different levels of the school system. Together, they underline the value and the role of classical music, seen as a treasure to be saved and transmitted to the new generations, so as to promote a complete education of the individual as a person and as a citizen.
